WHO IS...JazzUPtheSpirit
The music of JazzUPtheSpirit is the soulful jazz and blues music ministry of Linda Mangione, a native of Tampa, Florida. Linda was classically trained on piano as a child, but at the age of 16 she left the piano behind and began to develop other diverse talents as an adult. Linda married right out of high school to radio DJ Ron Allison (Bradford Baad) and became a radio DJ herself until going back to school to become a paramedic in 1979. Linda served with Polk county EMS for a little over 10 years. Then, in the early 1990's, she again went back to school to become a PA, and graduated from the University of Florida College of Medicine. Linda has remained in practice as a Physician Assistant since 1993
Linda admits that she has enjoyed much success in her life but it wasn't until 2001 however, that something miraculous happened after turning her life over to Christ as her Lord and Savior. At first, she thought she was only buying a piano, but the miracle began almost instantaneously when composing and writing music began to spill forth effortlessly. "The whole thing still seems so surreal", as Linda details in her new book "For Just A Time As This". Linda now has 5 music CD's and together, this inspirational package is a testimonial adventure of the stories behind the stories...the stories behind the music, that led her once-lost soul to an amazing and purpose-filled life for the cause of Christ.
